Our mission for the Kids of Samburu became important when we took a long awaited family excursion to Kenya. Exploring the sights and enjoying a safari, we discovered much more!
We found the Kenyans fascinating. They touched our hearts and we were forever changed. In June of 2007, our Journey took us to a tribal Samburu village seven hours north of Nairobi. We saw children playing soccer with crumpled cardboard wrapped with rope forming what resembled a soccer ball. It was then that the youngest of our group, 12 year old Michael, asked if we could come back and bring the kids real soccer balls.
Two years later we did just that, and a whole lot more. In the five visits since, we built a classroom for the nursery school kids, took retired soccer jerseys donated by high schools in our area. We have provided food, clothing, body wash, hundreds of mosquito nets, school supplies, goats and many other basic necessities.
The appreciation they have for the basics is hard to describe and heartwarming in a way that words cannot express. Kid Love Foundation will help this village in any way we can!
Let’s make a difference together!
